Hospital Indemnity Insurance in an insurance plan that can be purchased in addition to other health insurance coverage. The policyholder pays a monthly premium, and if the policyholder spends time in the hospital, they will receive a fixed amount paid directly to the policyholder to have cover expenses. The payouts go directly to the policyholder.
The payment can be used for anything, although people often use the benefit for deductibles, coinsurance, rehabilitation, or home care costs. It can also help pay for expenses during recovery or for lost income.
Most hospital indemnity policies also offer riders for Ambulance Services, Emergency Room, Skilled Nursing Facility coverage, along with Lump Sum Cancer Rider, Outpatient Surgery and Outpatient Therapy Rider.
